Secrets to a great outdoor wedding or event in the Texas Hill Country at La Escondida Celebration Center
Let your guests know that you are having an outdoor event so that they can dress and plan accordingly!
Also note that the Texas Hill Country temperature at La Escondida is usually between 5 and 7 degrees cooler than the San Antonio forecast. We have breezes almost all day and especially in the evening.
There are over 4,000 square feet of covered space to bring the ceremony from the lawn to the Starlight Pavilion or Pond Patio and still have your reception. If you are only having a reception, no problem, your event is totally under covered space. Know the backup plan in case of rain or other inclement weather.
La Escondida Celebration Center is a dedicated outdoor venue and we have included amenities that will keep your guests happy. We have fans throughout the covered areas, porta coolers, and hand fans for summer months. For winter months we provide heaters, personal blankets, and outdoor fire pits to keep your guests warm and toasty. We always have a water station available and most packages include a lemonade or hot apple cider station for your guests. If you have elderly or special needs guests, let us know and we will seat them in an area that would be best for them. Our lawn care includes weekly spraying for bugs/mosquitos and we have small cans available for individual spraying, if needed.
If you are planning an event between November and March (daylight savings time), we recommend you talk with the Event Coordinator about timing of ceremony and reception to get the best combination of daylight and nightlife hours.
